Haute Couture Process
At your first fitting you can try a range of gowns. Often you know when it's “the one”. Details from different gowns can be put together to create your own bespoke piece of sartorial perfection.
Up to 25 measurements will be taken to ensure your garment fits you perfectly.
After the design is decided and your personal perfect block created, a pattern is cut to your measurements for the chosen design.

For complicated designs there may be two or three toile fittings.
You can then chose fabrics from our range of unique luxury sustainable textiles, or bring us your own fabric to work with.
All Tammam garments are hand tailored in our Bloomsbury studio. They are created in a way that means they can be adjusted if your figure changes (or you pass it on to another lucky lady) and use high quality materials which will last.
Couture garments consist of many layers of fabric and hours of hand stitching.
Much of the temporary hand stitching to hold the fabric in place during production is removed before the garment is completed.
The meticulous process means garments have incredible details and perfect finishing as well as fit. Embellishments including embroidery and beading are usually created by artisans at fair trade co-operatives or individuals paid fairly for their work in India and Nepal. Smaller details, appliques and finishings are crafted in the Tammam atelier in London.
Most garments will need between 2 and 6 fittings to ensure perfection. We encourage repairs too, as inevitably your Tammam garment will start to show signs of use after so much love and wear. Tammam garments are made to last for many seasons, and live to become the vintage pieces for our children's children.
Our alterations and repairs services are available for Tammam garments as well as items from other labels - we just want your clothes to fit. For repairs and alterations of vintage and antique pieces see our in house specialist at Splendid Stitches.
A finished bespoke dress is guaranteed to fit and feel incredible – there is nothing like a made to measure garment.
